The Oliver Springs City Council will be looking to fill a vacant seat after their next meeting. Ward 3 Rep. Omar Cox has said that he will not be a candidate for the seat. Although Cox has been serving on the council for 13 years, he says that he will not return after the next meeting. The mayor appointed Cox to the position since no one ran for the seat in November. The city is taking applications for the position for the next two weeks. The council has also held off on any final decision to lower the space a landowner can house chickens on their property from one acre to one half acre.
