Cumberland County Deputies were able to take a suspect in custody Monday morning after he led them on a high-speed chase. Sheriff Casey Cox told 1057 News that the suspect, identified as George Skinner, stole a white Chevrolet Dually truck from the county early Monday. Skinner, who had just recently been released from serving a jail term and was on probation, had also stolen a trailer from White County. The suspect was observed by authorities and a high-speed pursuit began on Lantana Rd. Skinner was stopped in the Mecca Community and taken into custody. Both the truck and the trailer were recovered. Sheriff Cox said that Skinner will most likely be returned to jail to serve out the remainder of his sentence with multiple new charges.
