Unfortunate economic plans have been announced in the region. Thursday, Duracell announced that it will be closing it’s Cleveland, Tennessee packing plant by 2018. 140 people are expected to lose their jobs. Officials at the plant say that the closure is due to a consolidation of it’s North American packing production. They say that the closing of the packing plant will not affect the operation of Duracell’s Cleveland manufacturing plant.
