Saturday marked two things in University of Tennessee history: It was the first time that the Vols faced Tennessee Tech in 65 years and it was UT’s 100th Homecoming anniversary. The tradition started back in 1916 when about 300 alumni cheered on the Vols to a victory against Vanderbilt on home turf. This year’s homecoming theme was “Journey through 100 years of Volunteers,” and was showcased in the school’s annual homecoming parade. The celebration also saw UT deliver a staggering defeat to The Golden Eagles 55-0.
