Crossville Police have released a report on the vehicle vs. pedestrian incident which took place this past Saturday night on Highway 70 East. The report states that the victim, who has been identified as 54-year-old Billy E. Miller of Genesis Rd, was leaving the Blind Zebra Sports Bar and was attempting to cross the roadway, when he was struck by the driver of a 2013 Nissan Altima who was traveling west toward the city. Witnesses said that Miller was knocked into the air, over the vehicle and came to rest approximately 120 feet from the point of impact. The driver then fled the scene and failed to report the crash. The victim was taken immediately to the helipad at Cumberland Medical Center and airlifted to UT Medical Center, where he is listed in fair condition. Chief of Police Mark Rosser told 1057 News that a person-of-interest has been interviewed in connection with the incident, and even though information on a suspect has been listed, charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
