Crossville Police and Cumberland County Deputies defused what could have been a potential threat in the city Tuesday. Shortly after Noon, officers were dispatched to the Clayton Windows Manufacturing Plant on Genesis Rd. for a suspected situation where someone had allegedly threatened an employee or employees. Police Chief Mark Rosser told 1057 News that the building was immediately placed on lockdown. Interviews began and it was discovered that the threat had been issued through social media. After some initial investigation, deputies discovered the suspect living in the county and connected with him. The suspect was questioned and the threat found to have no merit. No charges were filed and no names have been released in connection with the incident. Authorities stress that all such alleged threats are taken seriously and investigated.
