JUDGE TO LOOK AT MOTION TO ENTER CRITICAL EVIDENCE IN NIKKI BURGESS MURDER CASE

A judge has said that she’ll take a motion under advisement that would allow critical evidence to be presented in the murder case involving a former Cumberland County model. The father of Nikki Burgess’s son, Caleb Cannon, is accused of the murder of the woman whose body has yet to be found. He appeared in court on Friday. That’s when the judge made her ruling. In a hearing last month, investigators said that cadaver dogs did pick up the scent of death in the trunk of Cannon’s vehicle. However, defense attorneys said that the dogs cannot be considered expert witnesses since there is no universal certification for such dogs. A former cellmate of Cannon’s told the court previously that Cannon told him he beat and strangled Burgess and then got rid of her body.
