Sunday, a visitor to the Morgan County Correctional Complex was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs inside. The Tennessee Dept. of Corrections and the county sheriff’s office worked together to apprehend the suspect who now faces charges including introducing contraband into a penal institution. TDOC did not immediately release the suspect’s name. So far this year, 41 people have been arrested for attempting to bring contraband into Tennessee’s prisons. There were 39 such arrests for all of 2015. If you know of any security concerns that threaten any TDOC property, please contact 1-844-TDC-FIND.
