COUNTY FIRE CHIEF DODSON TO RETIRE AT THE END OF THE YEAR

Cumberland County Commissioners voided two leases on property at Monday night’s July meeting. The first resolution was to void the lease with the Crab Orchard Senior Citizen’s Club. The second resolution voided a lease with the old Crossville Youth Center and declared it surplus property. Also, County Mayor Kenneth Carey Jr. announced that he had received a letter announcing the retirement of Jeff Dodson. Dodson, who has been with the county 40 years, has been overseeing the county fire dept. and EMS for the last few years. Mayor Carey said that Dodson will end his tenure with the county effective Dec. 31st and advised the commission to begin thinking about a replacement for the positions.
